Wenn English seine erste Sprache war und Schwachsinn seine zweite, dann war Lügen definitiv seine dritte. My only complaint about the books is that there are a few references to playing/ walking on railway lines and this is NOT OK. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. g. there is a river crossing with the first years ("crooklings") to get to the school and a sorting ceremony into houses - but it is really well done. Un premier tome à la fois introductif et immersif dans une école où l’on apprend à devenir le parfait petit escroc. This debut puts a lovely new spin on the classic school story, offering a strong sense of community and togetherness in the face of adversity. The plot is full of twists and turns, and cracks along at a very satisfying pace, and Crookhaven is definitely somewhere readers will want to spend time.

One day Gabriel gets caught by a thief, but instead of steeling he invites Gabriel to Crookhaven, a remote school, teaching all about how to become a master of thievery by learning lock picking, forgery and "crimnastics" but they learn to steal from the rich and not the poor and to take things back to their rightful owners. The students are set additional challenges like building a perfect tree-house and working out how to break into the seemingly invincible teachers’ section of the library and learning how to swim. This is an exceptional book, filled with bold characters talented in the arts of deception, forgery and parkour- though they only use these talents to right the world. Tout aussi bien que le premier tome <3 vraiment, c'est une série qui rentre dans mon top 3 de mes séries jeunesse préférées ! Good messages on teamwork and kindness, as well as the importance of practising skills (in fact it was nice to see this applied to lessons as I always tell students that writing is a skill and you can get better at it if you practice, just like you can get better at football if you practice). He left some notes for Gabriel as well, which send him to Crookhaven, school for wrongdoers, swindlers and thieves. Gabe lives with his Grandma, using his pickpocketing skills to put sandwiches on the table (bacon for Gabe and charred sausage for Grandma).

But instead of being arrested, he is invited by the mysterious Caspian Crook to attend Crookhaven – a school for thieves. It’s reassuring that even when you’ve got to pick a pocket or two, boys, you know you’re being taught to do wrong, so that one day you can put the world to right. He also does that obnoxious 'I won't tell my friends my master plan until after it's done' thing that bothers me so much.Unfortunately my biggest gripe is the do-no-wrong Mary Sue main character Gabriel, who seems to be perfect at literally everything. The Crooklings also discover that we all have things we prefer to hide, and that learning to understand who your real friends are, and to trust them, is just as important for young crooks as for the rest of us. Ebenso die Ideen des Autors bezüglich der unterschiedlichen Schulfächer, bei denen nicht bei allen auf den ersten Blick deutlich ist, was darin unterrichtet wird.
