The artwork, storytelling, light-hearted moments, sad moments, I haven’t had this much emotion reading something and all I can say is Gotouge did an amazing job with this world and story. In this world there are demons who can walk around at night and feed on humans, a bit like how Vampires work in fiction but they have more variation in their design. When I read something I always ask myself if there is something in this book or manga that I don't like before writing a review but I don't find a single point I did not like about this manga. Gotouge received the award due to the franchise's sales, which boosted the entire publishing industry from 2019 to 2020.

I really enjoy how they implement some Japanese culture/history bits in the manga with the traditional kimono, and stories about the samurai and stuff. But settled for 4 for because despite this being a satisfying story neatly wrapped up in a reasonable amount of volumes it was clearly rushed toward the end. Like many I think the selling point of this story is the characters, you grow to love, empatise with or simply enjoy every character for a facet of their personality, good or bad. It all make sense and if you like fantasy, dark fairy tale mixed with Japan way of telling stories, you owe yourself a favour of reading this.I chose to read this as I was struggling with the anime but could tell there was a story there that I would enjoy. That being said as strong as the Kizuki were, the characters fates seemed realistic, though heartbreaking. I loved this series and I only wish it was longer so we could have explored some of the characters more.
