Expert analysis of the biggest games, exclusive interviews, live blogs, transfer news and 70 per cent fewer ads on Scotsman. The book was written a few years ago now so perhaps she felt the need to confirm both her and Billy's fame at the time. He was just a Teddy Boy from his head to his toes, with his suede beetle crusher shoes, drainpipe trousers, draped jacket, and velvet collar and cuffs. Highly readable, like Billy's stand up the narrative has the intimate feel of being sat in a pub with the subject, telling stories and funny anecdotes, each interspersed with Billy's own reflections and self-debasing comments. Billy's stand-up comedy continued- for over 50 years, in fact - until a double diagnosis of cancer and Parkinson's Disease brought his remarkable live performances to an end.

Personally I prefer to think of him as a comedian, actor and observer of life who for a while was trapped in a welders body. In the book Billy, and in a December 2008 online interview, Connolly states he was sexually abused by his father between the ages of 10 and 15. While he was not their favourite dwarf they took the effort to seek out all the various person playing them. He is sometimes known, especially in his native Scotland, by the nickname The Big Yin (The Big One).

Not a bad bio, not much in the laughs department, considering the subject, but some interesting facts that I didn't know from all the interviews etc. That means that with every subscription, we are supporting people in poverty to get back on their own two feet.

Earlier in the book he describes his “stream of consciousness” approach to live routines, saying whatever comes into his head.In Windswept and Interesting, Billy Connolly’s distinctive voice comes through so clearly that you can almost hear him telling you his story in your head. This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. I read this book in just two days (and could have possibly completed it in one), it was so enjoyable and engrossing I didn’t want to put it down. The thing about Billy Connolly is I could listen to him talk forever, and the joy about this book is it is written in the style of him talking to you for nearly 400 pages.
