Do not mix ammonia-based ingredients with bleach. Some products can be safely combined, but don’t mix a product that contains ammonia with a bleach solution. Combining these two ingredients creates toxic chloramine gas that can cause eye, nose, mouth, and respiratory irritation. Keep in mind that this cleaner works over time; it may take several weeks or months to see the full results. Once applied, Wet & Forget helps keep surfaces clean for up to a year or more. One bottle can treat up to 180 square feet and has an unlimited shelf life. One downside to this formula is that it could harm surrounding plants and grass, so be sure to rinse off any foliage before and after you apply it. Treat stains with oxygen bleach paste. To treat a stubborn stain, mix just enough warm water with a small amount of powdered oxygen bleach to make a paste. Apply directly on the stain with a stiff-bristle brush and leave it on for 30 minutes, then rinse. The wood fibres, plastics and bonding agents are mixed and heated to be made into board length shapes. The boards are further pressed with a wood grain onto the surface and then cooled. Clean up any food or liquid spills with a paper towel and if that does not work, use the handy soap and water technique to remove any food debris. Even if you have grease stains from food debris, warm soapy water should be all you need.

Warm water and dish soap should be all you need to clean away most dirt and spills. It is a highly effective cleaner, very cost-effective, and exists in most people’s homes. An all-purpose solution of this strength will not add much to a high-powered pressure washer, where more potent cleaners may be desirable.

When to Clean the Deck

Gently scrub the affected area, working the cleaning solution into the surface to lift away the mould and mildew.

For a gentler clean to remove surface dirt and cobwebs, you can use a solution of washing up liquid in warm water. Be careful not to over scrub with anything harshly abrasive, and avoid rubbing against the grain, as that can leave marks.General Scratches: Scuffs and imperfections are a result of normal use, and can be left alone to naturally fade away over time. Both are up to the job of killing and loosening Algae and mould, taking a fair bit of the strain out of the process. I’ll say it again though, with volume it’s probably even more important – you could do with a jet washer to lighten the load.
