Description

It was great fun and everyone enjoyed it! What a fun way to see the sights! Could not recommend this enough. Elliot is living at home with his mum and a load of ancient Greek gods. Yes, you read that right. Zeus, Hermes, Aphrodite, Athene and Hephaestus to be exact. He’s also still got teenage constellation Virgo living with him. Her suspended status means that she’s living as a mortal.

My husband couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me when I couldn’t stop laughing at the constant gate references and I think the banter and interaction between Elliot and Virgo is just perfect. Familiar characters return and a couple of new ones appear that will really throw a spanner in the works while making the story a whole lot more interesting, if that’s even possible. This merry quest takes you around Bath and introduces you to some intriguing places. The city is old and gracious but at the same time, welcoming and lively. Solve the clues and have fun discovering Bath.

Book 1 was shortlisted for both the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and the Books Are My Bag Readers' Award I was so excited to see Simply The Quest by Maz Evans on it’s publication day. I absolutely LOVED ‘Who Let The Gods Out’ and recommended it to everyone I could, so I grabbed this eagerly anticipated sequel as soon as possible. The storyline continues on from the first book with Elliot and his motley crew of Gods trying to prevent Thanatos, the daemon of death, getting his hands on the chaos stones. I just love Maz Evans' sense of humour, it's sometimes toilet-based, breezy and chatty, and made me smile. Some very silly villainry, but just perfect for the age group.

Following almost directly on from 'Who Let the Gods Out', this needs to be read in sequence really to make sense of both plot and characters. I would guess that almost any reader of Maz Evan's first will want to continue reading about Elliott and his immortal friends. All of our upcoming public events and our St Pancras building tours are going ahead. I totally fell in love with Elliot and the gods, and I think you're all going to love them too.'ROBIN STEVENS on book 1 Difficulty Gentle - The clues are mostly straightforward. The quest includes some fun puzzles. The route is a pleasant walk. Bath is built on hills so there are some steep slopes.
