We'll reserve our judgment until we hear them for ourselves, but based on their specs this looks like a solid set of affordable headphones, and that battery life is seriously impressive, particularly given the asking price. And so on to the less desirable aspects of on-ears. After a while, the SoundMagic P23BT can pinch around the earlobes. I found it wasn’t too discomforting but it’s noticeable, nevertheless. The only pair of on-ears that have managed to avoid this issue are the Marshall Major IV and they came with chunky pads.

Mids stay clear and unaffected from any mid - bass cloudiness, voices sound quite realistic with the right timbre and good articulation, vocalists seated somewhere in the middle of the stage , not too front nor stepped behind.Tested both external and built-in microphone with Microsoft Teams meeting, the other party can hear my voice clearly

Midrange notes are slightly on the warmer side of neutral, giving them a smooth inviting presentation. The tone sounds natural and reasonably detailed. There’s a decent amount of clarity in the mids and vocals sound forward and intimate enough to be engaging. While listening to Melody Gardot’s “ Les etoiles“, the vocals are upfront and articulate, even if they’re not delivered with ultimate clarity. What is unexpectedly good for such a budget on-ear headphone is the clarity and the level of separation inside the soundstage which although it is boxy and limited between the ears, nonetheless sounds airy and not congested, making the P23BT suitable for listening to large scale symphonic works and gaming. We’re here to help make the search for the best cheap headphones easier by highlighting several pairs we think our worth the spend. When we review headphones we look at many factors, whether it be comfort, portability, wireless connectivity, and of course sound quality. The headphones on this list are we efforts we found scored consistently well in these categories and more.Focusing on the sound quality itself, I’d say the asking price is a steal considering the sound itself is really good. However, the only let down I’d say is the build quality, which to me feels rather filmsy, but that’s understandable, possibly to drive the cost down. The battery life is the star of the show here; they’ll last you as long as you need them to. The audio is also more than adequate but tuned more towards the lows, some might find them a little aggressive. The included carry case is nice, and the fact that they fold up is even nicer. When it comes to comfort, the P23BT headphones feel pretty good on the ears. They’re lightweight and the foam earpads feel reasonably soft. These are a nice change from the bulky full-sized headphones that I’m used to wearing and definitely feel more suitable for portable use. Battery Life Not just anybody can review a pair of headphones. You don’t need superhuman hearing to tell what’s good, but you do need to know what to listen out for.

Hey, thanks for reaching this part! Hope you enjoy the read, even if it is quite long.... Attachments I was surprised with the SoundMAGIC P23BT. I felt, on first look, that this would be another cheap and frankly, nasty, pair of Shenzhen-made headphones. They really surprised me though. So much so that this entire review was written whilst the SoundMAGIC P23BT were on my head belting out some Tion Wayne, SR and Pa Salieu. Like the Sony WH-CH720N the the EarFun Air Pro 3 have a bassy register that gives them a richer presentation. It’s not the sharpest, clearest or most detailed audio performance we’ve heard at this price, the Lypertek Z3 2.0 sound clearer and more dynamic to our ears, but those earphones don’t support ANC. They don’t have ANC, instead rely on passive isolation, which is good enough for most daily use. These work wired too and come with a high quality boom mic attached to the analogue cable – this is a brilliant feature that makes them perfect for home office use too. We found that making sure there is no microphone boosting in the windows sound settings worked the best in terms of voice quality – but once set up the quality is excellent for video and voice calls when connected to a PC. These really are very versatile, and the boom mic is not something you see very often when it comes to this kind of product. At this moment in time, the list covers over-ears, on-ears and true wireless to appeal a variety of users. This is only the beginning as we’ll be adding more entries if they are deserving of it. The headphones come with an auxiliary cable that includes a microphone. That means if you’re into online gaming or online conference calls, you can be confident your voice will come through loud and clear. Soundstage feels pretty much in your head, boxy kind of feeling, however, instruments separation is good as instruments can be pinpointed easily The sound quality is similar to the WH-CH520 on-ears in that it takes on a smooth and bassy tone. Bass is punchy, the midrange is clear and detailed, and the upper frequencies and bright and clear enough to have some impact. The Final UX300 offer a more insightful performance (at least with its noise-cancelling off), but they aren’t as affordable as the Sony headphones, nor do they boast as many features for day-to-day use either.

The performance remains mostly unaffected and only the treble is losing in quality, becoming coarse, thinner and slightly more forward, otherwise this is one of the best sounding budget Bluetooth headphones I have used so far and it gets pretty loud too.SoundMagic doesn’t really do a lot of marketing hence they don’t really stand out among the competitors, but they do make good stuffs too like the P60BT that I reviewed previously. Internally, the P23BT utilizes 40mm dynamic drivers. There’s no active noise cancellation but during normal use, these are still suitable for most normal environments such as commuting etc. The pads are okay but it feels cheap and feels like it will easily chirp as time passes by, fortunately the pads can be replaced which is a plus.
