i get so excited when they would brush each other's shoulders because yes, sexual tension is superior to sex itself.

While authors taking a slightly philosophical turn in a romance book isn't usually my thing, this book had a realistic, feel-good vibe that made my heart happy to read it. Every time he opened his mouth, said or did something, I felt the urge to pull him out the book and go sit on his lap.Since this is a MZ book there were a few plot twists/ plot lines I didn’t see coming, like the single dad trope (sort of), and how the music and songwriting tied into the book, and I loved that!

SECOND READ REVIEW (September’22) - This was the first book I ever read by MZ and I always knew that I loved it - but now that I’ve read all of her books (and a few of them more than once already) I think this one might actually be my favorite. Also, Not every one-liner needs to be turned into a running bit and sometimes 'cute' nicknames should remain unexplained, especially those that exist because one character reminds the other of Will Ferrell running around New York City like a hyperactive toddler in tights. There's a lot of self-reflection and glass half full philosophy which, again, isn't normally my thing but was just done so well in this story. Tobias and Amos Rhodes were obviously a big part of this story and I also enjoyed learning more about them and their interesting family.she ends up at a garage apartment she rented online, which turns out to have been put up by the owner's son, amos, without his knowledge. Aurora DeLattor is looking for a fresh start to erase the memory of the last fourteen or so years and moves on from her previous, hectic life. And look, after a pretty tumultuous year and a bit due to world events, this novel just hit all of the right spots like a big serve of carbs (don't you judge me) and gave me that warm, gooey feeling in my usually cold, dead heart. Honestly my only issue with Aurora, and I am being slightly picky here, is that I never again want to read a woman in her early-30s say "owie" when she's injured ever again.

I didn’t like Zapata’s last release, I found it extremely repetitive and dull, and I actually wasn’t planning on reading this book because if that. Because as much heartache and tears as I’d wasted in my previous life, the happiness I’d found here balanced it.And yet, I was entertained the whole time and even found myself rereading bits and taking forever to finish pages just to prolong it. Seriously, if there wasn't unnecessary drama and filler (like the situation with Aurora and her boyfriend + his mom, and the entire family tree confusion), perhaps Rhodes could have continued being a grumpy hero for a couple 200 pages more.
