Description

Due to the limitations of Xbox peripherals, some functionality on the G29 doesn’t work. This means it wasn’t needed in the design of the G920. Set the default profile as "persistent" then go in to your games and tweak the settings there and ignore the Logitech software completely from then on. Spend a bit of time in each of your games getting the wheel to feel right and you'll be fine. Breaking, cornering and various surfaces all feel better than ever on the G923. The pedals receive the least enhancements. A progressive spring and stiffer feeling on the brake pedal allows for some better heel-toe manuevers. Hopefully, Logitech can figure out how to have their pedals match the realism on their wheels without an insane price increase. Regardless, the entire build feels incredibly strong. Both the wheel and pedals are comfortable and ready for hours of continuous driving. Inside, and in the performance category, both the Logitech G29 and G920 are identical. So if performance is the only part of a racing wheel that matters, both wheels are just as good as each other! The Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel comes with a separate floor pedal unit to mimic the feel of high-performance vehicles. Comfortably brake, accelerate and change gears just like in a real car. Responsive, accurate braking mimics the performance of pressure- sensitive brake systems.

If you are looking to buy a great entry-level racing wheel for either PS5 or Xbox, I would highly recommend a Logitech G923. Especially compared to the older G29 and G920. A few things that were removed from the G29 for the G920 include the red rotary dial, the plus and minus buttons and the rev lights. None of these features appears on the G920. This is a shame, as both products are priced exactly the same. However, after installing the drivers and software direct from Logitech it became rather confusing about the settings. When comparing both the Logitech G29 and G920, you have to look at the G29 as the better racing wheel. It includes extra features that have simply been removed from the G920. After some research I found the best way to set it up is to delete all profiles in the Logitech software except the default profile. The new Logitech G923 looks very similar to the G29. It features the same design, same inputs, and the rev lights and rotary dial are all the same. The big news on the design front is that all of these features are now available to Xbox gamers.

Depending on one’s level of play, users will undoubtedly make use of all the wheel’s 900 degree turning radius. However, the best example of the G923 is with Grid (2019). Bridging the gap between sim and arcade like handling, it’s easy for beginners and the hardcore elite to dive in.

Its design consists of a metal face plate, with a hand stitched leather wheel. There are a series of buttons on the front of the wheel, all allowing you to control your PlayStation console without requiring a controller. This makes the G920 a slightly inferior racing wheel when compared to the G29. However, all of this is out of the control of Logitech, as it is the Xbox architecture that is stopping these additional functions from working. The Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel is the definitive racing simulator hardware for the latest Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and selected PC games. There was a bigger issue with compatibility between the G29 and G920. The G920 was the Xbox compatible racing wheel and had much less functionality compared to the G29. This is frustrating as both racing wheels cost the same money, but you essentially received a worse product with the G920 compared to the G29. For me, I like as much control as possible when using a racing wheel. That means that the more inputs there are available for me to configure and use the better. In this regard, the G29 wins due to its extra functionality.

It does need to be clamped to something, it cannot just be rested on your lap. I have mine on a piece of board but a proper gaming wheel stand would be better. To start with, the Logitech G923 looks identical, no matter whether you opt for the Xbox compatible version or the PlayStation compatible version. There are two versions available to buy due to Xbox and PlayStation’s different requirements when it comes to peripherals. But both versions look identical. Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you.The Logitech G920 is the Xbox variant of the G29. Inside, it’s exactly the same wheel. It behaves the same, has the same motor and maximum power, and the same pedals. But strangely, on the outside, the G920 is a rather different looking wheel. I use mine mainly with Forza Horizon 3 and it really does make the game about as real as a driving game can get. Read full review
