the highlight of this book has to be the final chapter, Feed Me Celebration, which covers all the desserts you didn't think were possible, including 'chocolate fondant,' 'Eton mess' and 'Christmas cake' . When the book arrived I made a recipe the first day with what we had in, it was really tasty and took 20 minutes to cook.

Like a ‘the other half is away and I want to sit on the sofa with a dish of Mac and back-to-back episodes of Teen Mom’ kind of an evening. To be honest that didn’t really bother me, it’s just that they look fluffier in the pan than they turn out to be. Don’t hesitate – this is a fantastic choice of cook book and a great one to have on hand ready for week night meal inspiration or weekend comfort food. Many of the recipes are standard traditional dishes with vegan processed food substitutes instead of animal products, which I didn't find inspiring at all. I'm not Vegan but since April I have been Vegetarian and embrace the idea of limiting animal-based products as best as I can, this book is excellent for ideas on how to try Vegan, what ingredients are best and what are vegan without you being aware. Packed with comforting, easy-to-make and totally delicious recipes, Feed Me Vegan will show that you can be vegan and still have your cake (and mac and cheese, and lasagne, and pancakes) and eat it. I wanted to have it out in my kitchen almost as a show piece but now it has to stay in a cupboard until I actually need to use it.

There were a few steps including pre-cooking the macaroni, frying off two types of mushrooms with some herbs and making a béchamel sauce.

If I hadn’t just polished off my bottle of vegan Bailey’s Irish Cream I would have nailed that recipe.

Day to day I generally eat Deliciously Ella style; however, when I occasionally want to indulge with some "dirty vegan" food Lucy has some fantastic recipes to choose from. Crammed full of flavourful and satisfying vegan fare, Feed Me Vegan will have even the most dedicated carnivore asking for seconds. I had no idea who the author was having never watched the programme, and I may not have bought it had I known as I may have thought it a gimmick.I don't really eat sweet food so maybe too much coverage of cakes and sweets for us, but there's lots of main meals, breakfasts and a great selection of sides and sauces to make, and each section is fairly equally weighted. After cooling in the tin for 10 minutes it started to collapse and on serving I could see that it wasn’t fully cooked.
