Rinse the fernbrake a couple of times, drain and put in a bowl. Cover with fresh cold water and let soak for at least 8 hours or overnight in a cool place, changing the water 2 or 3 times during the soaking. The perfect Bap I think is between the Doenbap and Jinbap but to me a little more to the Deonbap side – haha. Anyway, most people probably will like this kind of rice and I’m going to show you how to make this one. You can adjust the amount of water to your liking as you try it a few times. Add 1 egg yolk per pot and 1 tbsp of gochujang. Add a drizzle of sesame oil on top and toasted sesame seeds. Place it over the stove and let it heat up. Texture of vegetablesis important – when substituting vegetables, try to keep the same texture. e.g. baby broccolini instead of asparagus

Dolsot can be a raw stone bowl or a ceramic / clay bowl. At my home, I have a ceramic bowl. I use this bowl to make some of the Korea’s finest stew (e.g. Soondubu Jjigae and Kimchi Jjigae) too. Making a bibimbap can be as classic or as fancy as you wish with any vegetables or meat that you have at home. It’s a very versatile dish and healthy. The main ingredients are rice, vegetables and meat cooked and dressed with sesame oil, and topped with a spoonful of gochujang; Korean red pepper paste.
Gulbap: In English, gulbap means ‘oyster rice.’ To make this dish, you serve cooked oysters and other sautéed vegetables over rice. Use the 180 ml rice cup that comes with the rice cooker to measure rice, rinse 3 times and then add water to the level of the number of cups of rice you washed.
