What we know so far is that the new Kirkland ball is a three-piece offering that will be available in white and yellow. Thin, urethane covers can often mark and scratch easily, but even after hitting a lot of shots out of the rough, trees, and bunkers, it was still in a perfectly usable state. When testing spin, we selected a pitching wedge shot with a golfer swinging the wedge at 80mph club head speed (resulting in a ~120-yard carry).

Long irons through full wedges had a consistent feel and flight with this Kirkland Signature Performance Plus ball. It’s just three yards here, but still worth considering for many players thinking about switching to Kirkland balls. That being said, The durability on the Kirkland is a durable as any other TPU covered ball I've played. From what I’ve read on MGS, the Kirkland balls spin too much for me, so I probably would not use them anyway.Costco continues to promote the Kirkland Signature Performance Plus golf ball as a low compression ball that feels soft with high ball speeds and good durability. The bigger fear of the excessive spin claims with the Kirkland ball is that slicers might have more trouble with them. We are committed to offering the best value to our members, with a satisfaction guarantee on both your membership and merchandise. In the end, I personally wouldn’t switch to a Kirkland Signature golf ball as I felt I had to give up too much around the greens and with the overall feel. I wish they made them in yellow and with a bigger putting aid, but very happy with these balls non the less.

It would definitely spin too much for them, and they need a firmer, higher compression ball like the Titleist Pro V1x in most cases for maximum distance and spin control. These golf balls can enter the ecosystem releasing microplastics and toxic chemicals into the food chain. As with chips and pitches, they tend to release forward on the green instead of just dropping in place, so backspin definitely seems lower than with the v2. I was excited about the Kirkland Signature golf ball when it came to the shorter shots around the green. But I did take a few notes, and even got on the simulator to see if the numbers confirmed what I was feeling out on the course.I feel my swing is pretty consistent and every ball i hit seems to fly differently, almost like they are not balanced well.

But we do know Titleist claimed multiple patent infringements over Costco’s earlier 4-piece version of the Kirkland Signature ball, and they settled out of court. on a SkyTrak launch monitor against the original version of the ball as well as some other urethane covered offerings from different brands. Golfers will no doubt want to see what performance changes Kirkland has made to the Performance + golf ball and we’ll certainly look to include it in our upcoming robot ball test. You would think Costco would go through some testing to make sure the new ball has more appeal on a quality/performance level even though they won’t get the Pro-V crowd.Costco makes Kirkland golf balls, however, Qingdao SM Parker is the company that manufactures Kirkland golf balls. I generally hit my 8-iron about 150-155 yards in the air, and when I had that shot with the Kirkland ball, and struck it solidly with the same club, they were pretty much ending up close to pin high. It might not be the best ball on the market, but we saw little difference between the Kirkland Signature and balls that cost two or three times as much. What better time than now to take a look at the newest ball from the Kirkland Signature Performance series as it comes on the heels of a new driver and new iron set released by Costco’s golf division in mid-December? The speed-boosting mantle is optimized with three-piece construction to control spin with long irons while generating high spin on short irons for control around the green.

Again, we saw an improvement in the spin performance over the previous generation and so, from the same launch angle of 19. Do you really want two dozen golf balls of something that you are not sure will even work for your game? Our consistency metrics measure how similar the balls in our sample were to one another relative to all of the models we’ve tested to date. If you play the Titleist Pro V1 golf balls, chances are you have had a friend try to tell you that the Kirkland Signature golf ball is the same thing. When he's not doing the whole golf thing, Bill is a simple tech manager living in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and two kids. Is it the 338-dimple pattern that “enhances the aerodynamics” of the ball for a more penetrating flight?
