About this deal

I have no idea if you have had a look at a picture of this mixer, or read the user manual, but if you had, you will see that channels 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 have the dual numbering system as I have written. As a result, they have one of the lowest product failure rates in the industry, and confidently back it up with a generous 3-Year Warranty program.

If you didn't need the monitor send, sure, it would provide a nice way to send a pseudo direct signal for one of the channels. This is perfect because the channel strips are laid out in the same format as the channel strips on the aforementioned Europort.

This board is perfect for a small band or using it to present karaoke which is what I mainly use it for. Two PP3s give a nominal 18V, The 9V for the rest of the mixer is pretty low and I suspect it has pretty poor headroom. Featuring 10 input channels with one pre- and post-fader auxiliary send on each channel, the Xenyx 1002B is equally suited for studio or live use. With these Behringer mixers, they have twin sockets on the channels, which is a bit unusual (but handy).

The battery powered part of it isn't really as useful as it sounds, I did try it out and although it does work and will get you through a couple of gigs when using Energizer Lithium 9V batteries, it is kind of expensive to run. Their products are made in their own MUSIC Group factory using state-of-the-art automation, enhanced production workflows and quality assurance labs with the most sophisticated test equipment available in the world. With its ten input options, the 1002B covers a wide range of conceivable band setups for live and recording situations. My only complaint is opening the battery compartment requires a screwdriver; push-button lid or at least a thumbscrew would be much better. Channel inserts on main mic channels plus dual-input options on the stereo channels, faders- in addition to knobs, balanced outs for the mains, basic routing options, nothing fancy. Why not try connecting to to an amplifier, my guess is something wrong in your headphones or adaptors - or using the wrong socket. I had the tendency to overshoot my fader moves, being used to longer throw boards, but I could actually see the short throw as an advantage for fast work once you get your motor reflexes dialed in. The biggest question is if I need to add another power supply or if the built in power supply can handle the additional juice. To be honest I don't know what advantages a ball-tipped jack might or might not have over a conical-tipped jack.
