It’s pretty tailored to a specific way of playing, but if you’re a fan of that then you’re looking at a solid box offering decent savings. If you want to get the biggest 40k battleforce value then the Thousand Sons, Knights and Custodes are your best options in our opinion – but what do you think the best box is this year? This boxed set contains a supremely powerful daemonic Primarch, leading a trio of Exalted Sorcerers. It continues on a lot of the story threads from that first story nicely and also ties into a lot of what we have read from future books like John French's series as well as the Master of Prospero primarch book from McNeill.

Near Mint condition cards show minimal or no wear from play or handling and will have an unmarked surface, crisp corners, and otherwise pristine edges outside of minimal handling. The knights are playing a good hand here and are just edging out the Custodes in terms of savings, and come second to them in terms of points.Everything definitely had a very mystical vibe to it, and Amon comes across as the "old wizard" character type, but with some nice twists. With their Primarch at their helm, they will enact a campaign of vengeance that will bring the Imperium to its knees. It’s getting cold outside, the nights have drawn in and the Coca Cola advert with all the lorries has been on TV – it can all only mean one thing; the Warhammer 40k Battleforce releases are just round the corner! I would definitely recommend you read A Thousand Sons before this, otherwise a lot of it will be lost on you, besides that one book, there aren't any others that are "required" reading.

It took the Thousand Sons legion and established them as one of the true tragic victims of the Heresy, forced into their situation by poor decision making by Magnus and the machinations by Horus. Shrike and the Reivers make a solid pairing for a sudden strike and the pair of warsuits and eliminators give them some meaty back up. Once the most learned of the Emperor's sons, Magnus the Red was driven by hubris and deception into the arms of Tzeentch. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

You could round it out with some full sized knights or if you want to start an army with maximum savings two of these boxes wouldn’t be awful. It felt like something straight out of the start of the Heresy series when there were still weird, unexplored areas of the galaxy for the story to go to. But if you want to run all your HQ’s then you’d need to bump up to a battalion, which has five slots for HQ’s.

Without giving away too much of the plot, the story follows three main arcs, Ahriman's, Amon's, and Promus', an ex-Ultramarine librarian now working for Malcador. The Court of the Crimson King is a battleforce of the Thousand Sons, that is led by the Traitor Legion's Daemon Primarch Magnus. Three Exalted Sorcerers, who have stalked the galaxy since before the Horus Heresy, aid Magnus with their sorcerous might and ahead of them march twenty Rubric Marines, enchanted with infernal warpfire. Once all of them are reunited it is decided that Magnus must abandon his quest to recover all of the knowledge lost, which was splitting himself even more, and instead find the missing shards of his souls to be made whole again. Ahriman has gathered together a group of powerful legionaries including Hathor Maat and, as a nice surprise, Ignix.
