About this deal

I don’t dislike this fragrance, but it’s so overdone at this point, i feel myself cringing whenever I smell black opium and la vie est belle now. It is really sweet and I'd love to wear this only really at night or on a date, I feel like it's more for cold weather too. Also at first I didn’t pick anything unique or signature worthy, but day after day, and hours after I sprayed it on, I clearly recognized the coconut notes.

I’ve been on a hunt for a sexy jasmine fragrance for a while and though this is close, it’s not quite the only one after all for me! It's much softer than I expected, I need several sprays and two applications to get this to perform like a light skin scent. I need to play around with this more, but I found myself reaching for Alien and Libre Intense more than this. I was at my sister's, sleep deprived and hormonal from breastfeeding my then four month old, and when I finally gave my arms a break and handed my fitfully sleeping baby to my sister just so I could use the restroom, I spent a few minutes there just gathering myself. It manages to be very sweet but in a fresh, adult and non artificial way (maybe the pear and the iris together? This is the only fragrance I’ve smelled that incorporates coconut without pulling tropical- which is a good thing in my book as I’m not a fan of sunscreeny scents. However,I will have to say that the opening reminds me a lot of Givenchy L'interdit (which I don't like) but after maybe 15 seconds (yes that fast) it blossoms to someth It’s many hours later, and the combination of sweet white florals/coconut/vanilla are wafting around whenever I move. The Only One Intense is a gorgeous perfume which feels like a blend of Olympea and a coconut perfume like Fawn or M by Mariah Carey. I can understand the appeal - it's right on the bucks for the younger generation - but it's frankly not so good or original.

I wanted to try The Only One thanks to the coffee-iris accord at its heart, but it is just a disappointing, incoherent mish-mash of synthetic sweetness. The longevity is decent with it lasting 7hrs on my skin with a moderate silage, it makes me think of being wrapped up in my scarf, coat and boots while walking down a street in Oxford on a cool autumn/winter morning. On my skin it reminds me something from the childhood - it dries down to something my granddad had, at least my memory goes in that direction. Love her 💜 someone said it smells like expensive bubble bath and caramels, and I would say that’s a great description. I found it a bit nauseating when I tried to wear it during summer but now that it’s cooler again, it’s just right. It is like a refined smooth creamy perfume, very nicely constructed, nothing strong, just smooth and oozing with charm. The reason I bought this was because I had heard people saying that it’s a dupe for Rouge Malachite which happens to be my favorite.

BTW it's also very similar to Britney Spears Private Show but that one has an added fruity(nectarine) note. If you are a fan of Nishane’s HSW, this is its younger, cleaner sister, and HSW its naughtier sibling. I love the violet, it is more complex and warmer than Insolence and less gourmand than Choco-Violette so just what I was looking for. I blind bought The Only One since I love The One and I wanted to explore the line further, the notes listed made me think it would be a typical late 2010's/2020's sticky concoction and the comparisons to Black Opium also hinted to that too, but.Overall I’m really enjoying it, but I don’t think I will purchase it again since I’m on the hunt of a signature fragrance. Overall opinion: extremely synthetic heliotrope bomb, which is why it's really outrageous that heliotrope is not listed on Fragrantica after so many years since release.

These indulgent and luxurious notes blend seamlessly to create a rich and indulgent scent that will make you feel like the only one. The vanilla is similar to the one in Mon Guerlain EDP by Guerlain, so if you like it you may also like this one. From rest of the notes Sweet, floral, Iris, vanilla and fruity accords stand out the most for me but they are blended well. The initial spray is a little citric sharp but that gets hushed very quickly by a very dry violet powder.

However, the first time I tried it I thought it was too heavy and would not have agreed then with it being easier to wear than Alien. the coffee note isn't as strong as Black Opium but there's a perfect caramel note and something creamy here which make it heaven for gourmand lovers. All these notes sound like they'd be a horrific mess together but this blended so well; what a shapeshifter! I'm always happy to get a whiff of this on some of my friends or fellow partygoers on those cool Friday nights of drinking and dancing. The coffee note is really prominent, but the caramel and the violet in this really pushes through helping to make this fragrance sweet on the nose.
