The point of me realising that it was possible made me feel like jelly with nerves and my heart started racing. His efforts were futile as the flames engulfed his two-person cockpit with him only wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Since his accident, Jamie has obtained a scholarship to learn to operate hot air balloons which has helped him come 'full circle'. The horrific third-degree burns that Jamie Hull suffered over 63 per cent of his body in an aircraft fire almost cost him his life.

I was recommended this book by one of the team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital burns unit when I was there earlier this year, which is where the author spent 2 years of his life. While there have been 'dark days', Jamie told how he hasn't considered suicide again, and was determined to make the most of the life he'd been left with.A combination of 20 years manufacturing experience and the expert collaboration with of some of today’s most influential riders has cumulated in the most progressive components on the market today. The begining of the book is like the beginning of the end and seemingly, as trite of a metaphor this is, a phoenix out of the ashes.

Since joining Blesma, Jamie has been skydiving and horse riding in Arizona, but the water remains his focus. But above all, I believe that people can take strength from my story when faced with their own challenges and adversity in life. His story of personal resilience, overcoming extreme adversity and his passion for helping others and shaping lives today resonated incredibly well with our team and left a powerful impression on us all.

In the book, Jamie told how he turned his life around when he was 16, having fallen into a bad crowd and failed all but one of his GCSEs. I get to work with some very motivated individuals and enhance their physical and mental development. Lance Corporal Derek Derenalagi, a native Fijian, joined the British Army in 1999 serving in Northern Ireland and Iraq. With resolute determination and following over 7 years of major surgeries to recover from his life-changing injuries, he has successfully been able to turn his life around and make a very strong recovery. Understandably, Jamie said he went through a particularly dark period of his life around 18 months after his accident, especially during the time frame of him having to relearn to basic skills such as walking and writing.
