The first review I wrote about these binoculars wasn’t very good due to the fact they were faulty, after reading this review the owners of the company who supplied them got in touch with me and could not apologise enough they then immediately replaced the faulty binoculars with another pair and I’m happy to say they are perfect. I did not see in 20x50 much but Bushnell, zhumell and Nikon has it and I never had those so I can not say anything.I didn't find daytime views were difficult, it did take some effort to figure out the balance/stability issues.

As a first pair, I'd suggest wide view 10x50s, unless you are strong and steady and have a wall / car to lean on in which case you could try 15x70s.I think for a first binocular a lower magnification like 10x would be better, principally because they'll have a wider field of view thus making it easier to locate objects.
