This exceptionally pure water,coupled with carefully selected sugarcane from across the Caribbean and SouthAmerica, lends the lightness and smoothness that’s central to Bumbu’sremarkable drinkability. Neat it’s a tad on the rough side, but to counter act that burning sensation, there is plenty of sweetness going on (some argue too much) giving this rum a nice yin and yang balance. A dark palate of toffee, oak, and espresso, this blend delivers a standard 40% ABV and adds a subtle smoky richness to cocktails or punches.Distilled and aged at our distillery in Panama, which dates back to 1890 and using a still from 1900- more than 100 years old! Beautiful sweet rum, I recommended putting it in the freezer a couple hours before drinking as you wont need any ice that way and it becomes thicker like a thin treacle. They note that their rum, which is “hand crafted” using 8 different sugar cane varieties is aged for up to 15 years.
