Thus, the story has pretty good stakes, and the contrast between Abigail’s actual expressions and how she tries to be perceived provides a hefty source of visual humor.

Book one sets things up quite nicely and gives you a glimpse of the characters, but book 2 sets us rolling into intrigue with assignation attempts! It probably works best if you read around 3-5 chapters at a time since that is the length of the "arc", concluding on some warm family moment, and since it didn't take long, you haven't lost too many brain cells yet.She struggles with body issues sometimes because of her past life and refuses to let those same body image issues be pushed onto a child. The fact that she helps the ML build a better relationship as a father with Blanche is heartwarming as well.

Having fired Princess Blanche's nanny, Sabrien appoints Abigail in charge of her education-which means more opportunities to get closer to the adorable princess! While his give me and his daughter the cold shoulder he also is suspecting my extreme change of heart with suspicion. The new Queen Abigail is trying to change all this and to repair her relationship with Princess Blanche, but it's difficult to do when your smile is terrifying! The art style is well done and the details for items were worked on by someone who clearly knows what they were doing - dresses were rendered in styles that were realistic, character design and coloring were beautifully made and further enveloped the reader in the world envisioned by the author. This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. There is something so very special about this story of this woman who is now in the "evil" stepmother's body that ADORES her stepdaughter so so so much. Seeing Abigail "fight" for Blanche's happiness as well as celebrate all the things Blanche does is so very heartwarming! I’m super into exploring this story further and seeing how our main characters navigate this world and the challenges that come. So very much enjoy seeing Abigail grow closer to Blanche as well as this whole family slowly (and awkwardly) come together!

No, but Abigail consistently makes me smile at how often she says Blanche is "cute" (and how even she has "trained" those around her to say the same thing and agree LOL)! So he is not completely horrible, but I definitely want to see him level up as his father, which makes Abigail all the more amazing. I really enjoy her both as a mother like character and a romantic character to the king who obviously has some sort of unknown trauma towards women.Content concerns: so far no swearing, no smoking/drugs/alcohol, no nudity or sex (but, in the absence of a male heir, maids suggesting lingerie etc to get the king's attention), no violence besides the silliness of the protagonist punching a wall when overcome by the little princess's cuteness. Would definitely recommend for any other readers who, like me, are interested in isekai as a type of storytelling but have been very “put off” by the genre’s catering to a particular kind of audience. There's plenty of comedy here to be found as well as family fluff that doesn't seem too forced or one-sided for any of the characters. It’s fascinating to see how true, creative practice can really expand a genre beyond its—rather limiting—origins. Our female lead reincarnates into this world where her body formerly abused and neglected the crown princess out of envy for her beauty.

So many times I would burst out laughing at Abigail's expressions and people thinking she was scheming some evil plan, when in actuality she is planning something to make Blanche, and her face just looks like that. A modern take on the Cinderella story, I'm Only A Stepmother, But My Daughter Is Just So Cute could be considered the alternative to Who Made Me A Princess in terms of the relationship between the daughter and the mother. His rejection of Abigail’s affections was why the stepmother Queen’s personality warped in the first place, and the reincarnated Queen feels nothing but contempt for him. He neglects his daughter and wants nothing to do with his wife, whom he married purely for political reasons. In a twist of fate, Lily is now reincarnated as the villainess Queen Abigail Freidkin in a Snow White-esque tale.Meanwhile, everyone in the palace is struggling to determine whether the Queen’s plotting something or if she’s had a real change of heart. There is also an edge of seriousness in the machinations of a courtier who wants to make his own daughter queen, and the mystery of how exactly the once-evil queen fell into the near-death experience that got the protagonist into her body, so though it's kinda fluffy it doesn't descend into complete foolishness. Furthermore, Sabrian—the current king and Abigail's spouse—may be an outstanding regent, but as a father and husband, he is uncaring and neglectful. However, as a child clothing designer in my previous life, I’d much rather shower my cute and lovely Blanche with all sorts of affection!
