Ultimately, if you want the best Harvest, you should track down the DVD-A - the Hi-res 2 channel on this (24bit 192kHz) is awesome. The box sets are completed by two DVDs which provide a new glimpse into ‘Harvest’: The first is ‘Harvest Time’, an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of ‘Harvest’, with footage from Young’s ‘Harvest Barn’ sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London. Other elements, such as reeds and percussion, benefit from more clarity and precise location in the soundstage. I compared the original and the 2009 Reprise pressing of Harvest to the very good Nautilus Super Disc edition from 1982. The 50th Anniversary Edition will be released on triple-vinyl and triple-CD, both of which features the original album; a disc of three studio outtakes from the original ‘Harvest’ sessions (‘Bad Loneliness’, ‘Journey Through The Past’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’); and an unreleased live BBC solo performance.

Do yourself and your ears a favour, listen to this remaster on a well set up turntable through a decent . All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.I can't believe this fragile jacket that seems like it was printed on a Wheat Thin is still holding up after 51 years. Neil Young announces the December 2nd release of a 50th Anniversary Edition of his 1972 album ‘Harvest’.

My personal opinion of the most recent vinyl reissue of Harvest (Neil Young Archives) was that it was beautifully presented and also very nicely cut and pressed. On this number one 1972 album, even the singer’s acquired-taste voice comes across smooth and beautiful – the smash Heart of Gold, with steel guitars and Linda Ronstadt’s backup vocals, is by far young’s most commercial-sounding song.

Though I often consider vinyl to be a bit like wine - worn vinyl has probably been thoroughly enjoyed and played often - you could keep vinyl unplayed or wine unopened but in both cases you don’t enjoy it!

When Crosby and Nash contribute vocals near the end of the track, their voices are fuller and harmonies clearer. The 50th Anniversary Edition Box Sets will be released December 2, 2022 on Vinyl and CD, boasting the original album, three studio outtakes on CD/7” vinyl, an unreleased live 1971 BBC solo performance on CD, LP and DVD. One of his very best and a shoe-in for classic status, Young detoured briefly to the Nashville mainstream.

It's a lovely late '60's folk album with a consistent feel throughout and a sound that set the blueprint for his sporadic 'sensible' albums over the years. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse.

Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. But Chris Bellman’s mastering on the 2009 reissue gives it extra definition that helps clarify the attack. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. On “Are You Ready for the Country,” Nitzsche’s slide guitar now cuts through with added sharpness and affords the music a more buoyant quality. The film Harvest Time is a previously unseen 2-hour documentary filmed in 1971, documenting the Harvest sessions. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). Anyway, I’ve been listening a lot to Radio Paradise while working from home and he features fairly regularly on there and that has sort of piqued my interest to explore his (large!
