It’s not fun for me to watch people be stressed out and flailing as a whack-a-mole of problems pop up around them. A funny, insightful, properly swoony rom-com , Before I Do genuinely had me stumped as to which way Audrey would go, and perplexed as to what I wanted her to do. Audrey feels a bit "off" the night before their wedding and wonders if this is what she really wants and can she and Josh make each other truly happy. Then unexpectedly Josh’s sister brings a date to the wedding who Audrey felt like he was the one that got away.

Cousens injects her book with some great moments of humour, plenty of warmth and some genuinely touching moments too, such as when Audrey reads the last letter her Dad wrote to her. I am most impressed by her ability to tackle such a difficult style, and I think it is what makes this book so unique.They had a second date planned and he never showed up but she remembers how different and excited she felt.
