About this deal

Experienced runners who have completed at least 4 ultras in last 12 months, or are doing regular long distance running (>50 miles) with elevation and conditions shown (where possible). Ben’s casual approach to running and all the amazing people he meets along the way is astonishly inspiring. You might have caught the bug after experiencing that adrenaline rush of completing your first 5k; it might be a desire to finally cross something off your bucket list; or, perhaps it was a bit of an absentminded afterthought while watching TV, crisps in hand, and a niggling voice saying ‘maybe I could do that’ – it was for Vassos, at least. About the Author: Vassos Alexander is a British sports reporter, presenter, author and endurance runner.

I have only managed one marathon at the time of writing, but Ben makes you feel that you could do anything you put your mind too – it doesn’t necessarily take hard training, speed and poring over “Runner’s World” as if it is the bible, it takes heart, determination and the right running companions! Chris's wild days are now firmly behind him, and he lives with his wife Natasha and sons Noah and Eli in the Berkshire countryside. What attracted me to this book was the promise that it was written by someone who describes herself as “ordinary” and only started running in her late 30s – maybe someone I could relate to even though I am not an ultra-runner myself. However the edition that arrived was not the same as pictured therefore unsuitable for our collection. In the film, they asked Forrest if he's running for women's rights, the homeless, world peace, the environment or animals. Experienced ultra runners will enjoy the stories from these epic races and interviews with many of the great runners around the world.

He launched and presented the hugely successful Channel 4 shows The Big Breakfast, Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush and TFI Friday, before moving to radio in 1996. It also includes stories of his long-suffering but ever-supportive friends and family (particular his lovely Dad! Before long he had exceeded Wogan’s listening figures, and the nation had begun to accept the reformed wild child back into its heart. This may result in small marks to the dustjacket and title page, please also bear in mind that each signature will be a little different from the one we show here. That very race features later on in Running Up That Hill, Vassos Alexander’s latest book which explores the highs and lows of going that bit further.

Very experienced long distance ultra runners (min 3 years’ experience) or are doing regular long distance running (>50 miles) with elevation and conditions shown (where possible). After a foreword by Chrissie Wellington and a short intro, the book begins at the pre-race briefing for Spartathlon, a 153-mile footrace reliving the footsteps of Pheidippides who, in 490 BC, ran from Athens to Sparta to seek help in the war between the Greeks and the Persians. Read more about the condition Very Good: A book that has been read and does not look new, but is in excellent condition.
