The main body of correspondence is between Frampton and Isabel Ross, Editorial Manager at Jonathan Cape, concerning Frampton's work to re-type the 1965 critical analysis The James Bond Dossier by Kingsley Amis, and the first post-Fleming Bond continuation novel, Colonel Sun published in 1968, also by Amis under the pseudonym Robert Markham. The 1967 version of "Casino Royale" to many people is a farce and a disgrace, and although you can applaud the thoroughness of the authors to include it, the truth is that it may have been better to leave it out.
