About this deal

At the recommendation of user @KorvinStarmast, I am adding my followup comment in the main body of this answer. I recommend not using solvents unless you have exhausted all other options and are willing to lose the game mat itself. The design is double-sided (desert on one side, grass on the other), doubling the value for what you pay for. The size of the mat is another important factor to consider. If the mat is too small, it may not be able to accommodate all of your game pieces, while a mat that is too large may be difficult to store or transport. Consider the size of your gaming table and the number of players when choosing the size of your mat. If the acid fails to remove the deposit, it is time to try a base. Take a moment to thoroughly wipe up any acid that may be lingering on the mat.

They come in a variety of sizes and styles, including grid, hex, and plain, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs. Chessex battle mats are also double-sided, so you can use both sides for different encounters or campaigns. I found out that there's a few options regarding battle mats, and don't really know what even look in the product to decide. I'm just looking for a square one, with a decent (but not huge) size, and above all, durable. I don't really care about the maker, so it can be WotC, the guys behind Pathfinder or "RPG-Tools.com", as long as I can buy it in Spain. This is a great option for someone looking for affordability and easy storage. Factors to Consider When Choosing a Battle Mat

I have a friends battle mat that he has given up on so i am trying everything i can just to see if anything works. The permanent marker is dried in and set and has been for several weeks. Here is what i found: Vinyl battle mats are made of a durable, waterproof material that is easy to clean and can withstand heavy use. They are also available in a wide variety of sizes and designs, making them a versatile option for D&D games. Cloth battle mats, on the other hand, are made of a soft, flexible material that is easy to roll up and transport. They are not as durable as vinyl mats, but they are more comfortable to use and provide a more authentic gaming experience. Reusable vs. disposable As you've discovered, battle mats aren't really made for extended marking. Mats are typically wiped after every session, and most gamers use only non-permanent overhead projector markers on them. Even then, some colours (like red) can leave a faint stain even when promptly wiped up at the end of the session. There are many alternative options to traditional battle mats for tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons. Some of these options include using a dry erase board, creating a battle map using foam board and tiles, or using a virtual tabletop platform like Roll20. Be sure that you have a surface that’s a fair bit bigger than the battle mat you plan to get. You need to account for the space needed for character sheets, notes and the DM’s station. This is especially true if you’re getting a Mat that’s larger than 24” x 36”, since you’ll need a pretty big table to work on.

This next option is for those who perhaps want an extra mat for their sessions or for those that just want to upgrade from pieces of paper. This Monster Protectors Battle mat is a great option for those who don’t have too much space to work with and need something on the smaller side. It’s worth noting that these double-sided battle mats do not come with any extra accessories like pens or erasers, so it isn’t great for beginners. But for those who are already prepared for some tabletop gaming, this is a great mat to add to your arsenal. It measures at 20” x 20” so it’s a square-shaped battle mat, with rounded corners too. Plus, even though it doesn’t come with pens, you can still use Dry Erase pens on this mat. QUALITY BATTLE MAT DESIGNED IN THE USA – These game mats are designed and Printed in USA. Give these heavy duty doubled sided battle mats a try on your next epic adventure! It is a small investment that will deliver tremendous benefits.

Now, repeat the above procedure, but replace an acid with a gentle household base, such as ammonia. Be sure to dilute the ammonia and always be sure to first try the ammonia dilution in an isolated area of the mat, and be sure to fully wipe off any ammonia or other base residue. Nothing Gets Chocolate Out... See? Sometimes, however, a deposit will not be removed without overdue effort and/or damaging the original material. Should the above three methods fail, I leave it to you to decide how much you are willing to invest in the quest to remove the stain. This answer attempts to provide some clear instructions on methods to remove a deposit while also maintaining the original product’s integrity. A Final Note So for all of you who have permanently stained battle grids I hope this works for you as well as it does for me. And to the guy who tryed to extort me for markers, who's laughing now! A battle mat is an essential tool for many D&D players. As you probably know, DnD battle mats come in various types and styles, with unique features and benefits. In this blog, I’ll take a look at the different types of battle mats available and showcase the best DnD battle mats on the market. Table of Contents Do not let the acidic solution sit on the mat for more than a moment or two before wiping it up with a warm, soapy cloth.
