About this deal

The yellowish discoloration which results from iron containing stones rusting is removed and largely prevented. Do not allow the product to dry on the surface, if necessary add some water and brush. Please Note: we always recommend testing the product in an inconspicuous area prior to use.

Strict EU regulations were introduced in 2013 to ensure all paving sold in the UK meets the minimum standards set out under European standards EN1341 (flagstones), EN1342 (setts) and EN1343 (kerbs), however MOST companies selling paving online DO NOT adhere to these legal requirements as it is not heavily policed by Trading Standards. ALL paving products sold by Paving Superstore are manufactured by leading brands and DO meet these standards. All products are CE marked / UKCA / UKAS accredited. UKAS is the National Accreditation body for the United Kingdom appointed by the government to ensure products meet the high standards needed to attain certification. All products also hold a valid Declaration of Performance certificate which details the tests and results for each of the necessary criteria which guarantees you that the products we sell are fit for purpose. Water Absorption (BS EN 13755)Coverage: 20-50m 2 with a watering can; up to 200m 2 with a low-pressure sprayer. A sprayer is preferable, to allow for better coverage and penetration. The compressive strength rating is important when deciding on stone suitable for a driveway or commercial setting where excessive weight will be applied to the paving. Paving that does not pass the required standard will not support any excessive loading. Slip Resistance (BS EN 14231) Lithofin Rust-Ex also removes rust marks. It costs more than Bero, but its advantages are that it doesn’t affect the colour of paving, is faster to use (applied to the stone for a maximum of 10 minutes, as opposed to 4-8 hours) and can be used for spot cleaning. You know it’s working, as it turns purple in reaction to rust. General grime and dirt – a Stone and Masonry Cleaner (SMC) can be used to give your patio a deep clean.

Regular periodic cleaning is a far better approach than a more intensive annual clean. Cleaning stone & porcelain a few times a year can keep the task light and your paving clean. Algae, Mould & Plant Growth Find out more about what cleaning solutions to choose for porcelain paving. What not to use when cleaning a porcelain patio Please Note: Lithofin MN Builder’s Clean is not suitable for polished or finely honed surfaces which are sensitive to acid such as limestone, marble, manufactured stone, etc. Ideally, use Outdoor Cleaner once a year to get a really thorough deep clean. This should take you through to the autumn when a re-application of Algex will protect your patio from the worst of the winter. The only caveat we need to offer is that Outdoor Cleaner shouldn't be used on stone which has been sealed with Dry Treat Intensifia, as it can sometimes lead to bleaching.Further to stringent test procedures, all paving sold through Paving Superstore is ethically sourced with all manufacturers belonging to the Ethical Trading Initiative or alternative schemes. This promises that: Lithofin Builders' Clean can be used for light rust discolouration, as well as efflorescence, limescale deposits, and ingrained dirt. However, it's more squarely aimed at cementitious residues where, for example, pointing has spilled over and been left too long to clean off completely. A special product for natural stone and porcelain, including limestone, it’s a highly active cleaner based on chlorine compounds and special additives. It works fast and thoroughly and we particularly recommend it for natural vegetation, leaf marks, mould, and where leaves have mulched onto the surface. We've found it quite magical in the results it gives. Over 2,000 m² of marble within the Palatine Chapel, also known as the Octagon for its distinctive octagonal central area, are encrusted by a stubborn layer of dirt, soot, and grease. Additionally, the combination of humidity and carbon dioxide has weathered the marble over the years. The marble slabs have been used as flooring, wall panels, columns -which were shipped from the ancient buildings of Rome and Ravenna- as well as a marble throne.
