Description

My husband loves hot dogs in the summer and always looks for hot dogs that are good quality when choosing for health and flavour. Our loaded gourmet hotdogs are super easy to make and you can have them ready in less than 10 minutes! Bunlimited kindly sent us their range to try out and see what we thought. If I’m totally honest, I wasn’t expecting much. I mean they are microwaveable hot dogs after all. Hubby, Freya and I were the most adventurous with our hot dogs, teaming them with a bun, the crispy onions and a generous amount of the Bunlimited Chipotle Sauce. I’ve never tried a chipotle sauce and have been won over with the Bunlimited option.

The Bunlimited range includes Classic and spicy Mexican hotdogs, crispy onions and a selection of sauces. My husband and our middle daughter has sampled the range. I’m a vegetarian myself and our oldest daughter doesn’t like hot dogs but they’re a great treat for my husband and our middle girl who is our little foodie. I have tried the sauces and the onions though and our toddler is a big fan of the crispy onions actually! Bunlimited Mexican Hot Dog with a generous amount of Honey Mustard Sauce and Crispy Onions. Simple and tasty! Oh just the BEST Mexican Hotdogs – juicy tender hotdogs topped with chipotle sauce, salsa, avocado and crispy onions. And if you’re looking for more hotdog ideas? We’ve got that covered too with our tasty hotdog topping inspiration! Curry Dog– use a hot and spicy Bunlimited hotdog and top with spicy mango chutney, cooling mint raita, vegetable curry sauce and a sprinkling of coriander and crushed popadoms. Hotdog for breakfast? Why not?! Try out our delicious hotdog topped with eggs and beans with a good squirt of tomato ketchup just to finish it off. How to make all day breakfast hotdogsThe two sauces available are Chipotle Sauce and Honey Mustard Sauce. They are both mayo based and perfect flavours to complement your hot dog. The Honey Mustard one is the winner in our house. Struik hopesthe Bunlimited rangewillreplicate the success of “the likes of Mexican and Indian meal kits”

Last but not least, the Crispy Onions that make a perfect hot dog topping. Crispy onions are a common hot dog topping in Sweden where I’m from so we’re happy to see these included in the range. Very delicious! Classic Hotdog– keep things plain and opt for a classic hotdog, simply topped with a drizzle of ketchup, yellow mustard and a sprinkling of Bunlimited crispy fried onions. This last bout of summer has been extremely welcome. I am not a cold kind of person and would much rather lay outside in the sunshine all afternoon. You can cook the hotdogs in the microwave and they take just 2 minutes, so you can have dinner ready in less than 10 minutes which is just brilliant for when you’re cooking for a family.Once cooked snip the bacon into pieces and load up your hotdog – add the hotdog sausage, then sprinkle on the bacon and corn and drizzle over the Bunlimited honey and mustard sauce and a drizzle of BBQ sauce.

It was silent whilst we ate our hot dog picnic. All of us thoroughly enjoyed them, including Elsa who is the fussiest eater but biggest lover of sausage foods. I’ve been pleasantly blown away by Bunlimited. Brioche Hotdog Rolls– you can use ordinary rolls or crusty baguette style rolls if you prefer. Alternatively try using tacos. Cheesy Hotdog– pile that cheese on! Take a classic or spicy hotdog and throw on your favourite three cheese combo. Try Cheddar, mozzarella and a tangy blue cheese.

Good to know

Tub Tomato Salsa– go for plain or spicy salsa or you could even make your own if you like. Try our homemade salsa recipe here .

A delicious classic Bunlimited hotdog in a soft brioche roll topped with crispy bacon bits, charred corn and a generous drizzling of Bunlimited Honey Mustard sauce and drizzle of BBQ sauce. How to make a bacon and corn hotdog The Bunlimited Hot Dogs are high quality pork hot dogs with a high meat percentage and are available in the Classic flavour and Mexican flavour. My husband enjoyed both but prefers the spicy Mexican ones. We’ve had the perfect bundle of ingredients in our cupboards for a while and Sunday afternoon seemed like the perfect opportunity to put them together and have an easy Sunday in the garden.
