Description

At 10kg the Henry XL Plus weighs a lot but is worth considering if the features are appealing to you and you are confident you can deal with the 10kg weight you take into account the weight of the dirt and dust as you collect it. There’s also a number of Henry models with their own selling points, such as the Henry Xtra – a slide upgrade on Henry due to his extra tools – Henry Allergy, Henry Wash and Henry Micro. And then there’s the wildcard Henry Cordless option, the only cord-free vacuum available from the Henry range. Pet Power Brush: The excellent Pet Power Brush is designed to help you get rid of embedded hair and dander in upholstery and carpets. It has a mini air driven brush-roll which does the job of hair removal excellently. Finally, there’s the AiroBrush 140, which is a smaller motorised turbo brush. This is a welcome addition to the Henry, as it’s a powerful accessory with a rotating brush bar for pulling embedded pet hair out carpets, sofas, and pet beds. Another factor that allows James to be smaller is the cable tidy that can be found on the top of his head, which means you can manually wind the cable by hand. Where James stands out over the rest of the Henry Hoover range is the unique caddy tray that can also be found on the top of his head, providing a great storage place for his attachments that includes the crevice tool and the upholstery brush.

It’s also worth considering the compact versions of Henry vacuums. Many people don’t need the extra capacity provided by full-sized models. Summary While the traditional Henry has an A class energy efficiency rating, other models don’t match it. The worst is actually the Harry, which has a C class energy efficiency rating. It is important because a higher consumption vacuum cleaner will use more, costing you more in power. They aren’t as environmentally friendly either, so if being E-friendly is important to you the basic Henry is the better model. Size & Shape The motorised AiroBrush 140 attachment is Numatic’s answer to pet hair, and it does a great job. The rotating brushes agitate the surface to pull out embedded hair. And the narrow width of the floorhead, combined with the long reach, makes it easier to get into awkward areas. The Henry XL Plus comes with a hard floor cleaning tool as well as a powerful AiroBrush 140 to help with more stubborn dirt. You can’t deny there’s a bit of a royal theme running through some of the current names, with Henry, Charles, George and James all having ruled the land at one time or another. (Hetty is a shortened Henrietta, the female equivalent of Henry.)If you are desperately seeking an upright vacuum cleaner then have a look at our article regarding the best lightweight upright vacuum cleaners of the year, so far. Power Settings Suction is reflected in two ways with the Henry vacuum cleaner range. It is either a result of the maximum energy outage that the model in question has, or it is marked as a class rating. For example, the class rating of the Harry pet hair removing Henry is a Class C. If you want maximum suction, you have to go for bigger numbers. So where the Harry is a 620 w, the basic Henry has the option to go up to 1200 w. This will have more suction power. Charles is designed to shine in the wet – and this is indeed where it has the edge over the competition. Having a vacuum which can clean up spillages is a major bonus. If you’ve ever had a big spill in your home or even had a problem with the plumbing you know exactly how difficult it can be to clean it up. Not with a Charles in the house. One of the great aspects of this is its allergy retention, which is great for those of us who start sneezing every time the dust gets agitated.

The Henry XL and XL vacuum was released last year. His bigger capacity has proven to be popular especially with people who use Henry as part of their workforce. Numatic Henry XL Bags are bigger than standard ones. However, if you don’t mind recharging the battery every time you finish hoovering (assuming you don’t also need to vacuum for longer) then the Henry Cordless is a good lighter option than the original Henry. It’s also an affordable vacuum cleaner with good all-round cleaning performance. And, while it’s not as convenient as other cylinder vacuums, it makes up for this with its strength and durability. A unique aero-brush is great if you have pets in the house. It provides an outstanding level of cleaning with carpets and is the perfect tool for cleaning up pet hairs, as well as those bits of pet food that don’t quite stay in the bowl and other edibles such as cat grass. A hard floor brush means it can continue cleaning on hard floor surfaces while a 10m power cable provides extensive reach. Haven’t you always wanted a cleaner who could do pretty much everything? If so, George could be the man for you. Big green and friendly he’s great in the dry happy cleaning up spills, or scrubbing away stubborn stains. There is nothing he can’t handle.

The Henry XL Plus is one of the more expensive vacuums in the Henry range, but it’s still cheaper than many other cylinder vacuums. You get a good haul of attachments included in the price too, which is a bonus. The classic Henry model has two brush head settings for carpet and hard floor. Henry performs excellently on our carpets leaving them looking renewed every single time. You can tell very easily that Henry has been through our carpets once they’re done as they generally look spotless and refreshed. As the name suggests, the Henry Xtra is just like the regular Henry but a little bit more. He comes with a host of different accessories and features which means he can cope with just about any job going. Therefor if you own a XL or XL plus model you will need to ensure that you buy the correct Henry bags to suit him.... the standard Henry ones are going to be too small. Upholstery Tool: This thing is simply amazing. Designed to get rid of dust and other debris on upholstery we actually find it most useful on the stairs where it gets the carpet looking refreshed every single time. You have the option of using a brush end or just the plastic fitting and both do an excellent job.If you’re looking for a straightforward cylinder vacuum that won’t let you down, the Henry is a great choice for carpets and hard floors. While it can be unwieldy to use on stairs and doesn’t have many advanced features, it has excellent filtration, strong suction power and provides great value. It might sound like a complex term regarding suction or energy efficiency, Numatic International are the manufacturers of the Henry. Incidentally, although known as Henry Hoovers, they aren’t Hoovers by brand. There’s also a number of different Henry versions, including the popular Henry Xtra, Henry Allergy, Henry Pet, Henry Eco and Henry Micro. There’s even now a Henry Cordless option too. The large capacity ensures this isn’t a task you’ll need to do often, as even the messiest jobs will take a while to fill a 15 litre bag. The downside is you can’t clean the filter. Instead, you have to tap the dirt off or wipe it down with a dry cloth. In the dry it has a hefty storage capacity of 15 litres and a wide range of attachments means it can switch effortlessly between different tasks. It really is a vacuum which can rise to meet just about every challenge you can think of.
