La Poké Ball de Sam (profesor Oak) cuando era niño tiene un diseño distinto al de las otras Poké Balls que se entiende por ser 50 años antes o más, pero la Poké Ball de piedra se dice que tiene siglos y mantiene el diseño original, al igual que el Trofeo de la Liga Naranja que se dice que tiene aproximadamente 300 años y éste también tiene el diseño de la Poké Ball actual, lo cual contradice el diseño de la Poké Ball de Sam (cabe destacar que quizá desde pequeño estuvo interesado en este tema y pudo haber diseñado su propia Poké Ball). You used to only be able to use the Safari Ball in safari parks in certain Pokémon games, but as of the Pokémon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor DLC you can obtain and use it in regular gameplay. A Poke Ball that makes it easier to catch Pokemon that live underwater. If a wild Pokemon is found while surfing with Koraidon or Miraidon, the capture rate becomes 3.5x, if not the capture rate is 1x. Starting in Generation III, each type of Poké Ball has an index number associated with it that is stored in the data structure of the Pokémon when caught or otherwise obtained a given type of ball. Ultra Ball

Three types of Poké Balls were available in Pokémon GO upon release: regular Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls. These remain the only types of Poké Balls that are generally available. Sewaddle and Burgh in Pinwheel Forest shows a major difference in what happens after a Pokémon is captured. Instead of being automatically sent to the regional Professor, the Poké Ball is sealed and the button becomes red. The Pokémon is kept inactive until it is switched out by another actively in the Trainer's party.
