After the McCallisters realize they've overslept and are frantically running around the house, Heather goes up the same set of stairs twice.

After Marv leaves the water running in the Murphy home — much to Harry's disapproval — they argue and almost run over Kevin in their van. Kevin finally recognizes Harry and starts to run as the suspicious burglars follow him. He reaches a church and loses sight of the bandits by posing as part of the church's Nativity scene display. He then runs home, declaring that he will be ready when the burglars return. After the spider spooks Marv, Kevin slips into the attic and ziplines from a window to his treehouse. The Wet Bandits eventually catch up to him, but he’s saved by his neighbor, thus wrapping up Home Alone’s insane climax. I kept the drinks very simple, my guests tend to drink only a few specific things. I knew I wanted to server “Kerosene” which was actually an Arnold Palmer. I also had Pepsi of course. I served Champagne, beer and water in the kitchen and everyone was happy! I set the bar on our dresser in the kitchen, when throwing a party at home I really try to work in my home decor into the party, purely so I am not taking a bunch of things off the wall and I can keep it all in house. On the dresser I printed out a city scape by The House Lars Built. It was perfect with colors of pink, purples and golds. I used a chalkboard table runner and drew on it to look like a street- and there were tiny toy Taxi Cabs going up and down, just like NYC. The blind spot mirrors on the burglars' van change positions and sometimes disappear between shots.

Kevin wakes up the next morning and calls for his mother but is disappointed to find that he is still alone. Kate then arrives and the two reconcile before Peter and Kevin's siblings arrive, having caught the flight that Kate did not want to wait for (while Kevin's uncle, aunt and cousins are still in Paris). Buzz becomes glad that Kevin didn't burn the house down. When Kate asks Peter to find an open store to buy some milk, Kevin reveals to them that he had gotten groceries for Christmas (milk, eggs, and fabric softener), but more or less "just hung around" while his family was away. Kevin does not disclose his encounter with Harry and Marv, though Peter finds Harry's gold tooth on the floor and wonders what it is. When Kevin asks Buzz if he could sleep in his room to avoid sleeping with Fuller (who wets the bed when given a lot to drink), Buzz usually says " I wouldn't let you sleep in my room...if you were growing on my ass!", but in some instances, he will say " I wouldn't let you sleep in my room...if you were growing on my butt!". The movie that Kevin watches on video tape is not a real film, but footage specially created. It was called Angels with Filthy Souls. Along with other similar era references in the movie, this is a play upon the movie Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) starring James Cagney. Kevin uses it on the pizza boy and later Marv. Both times, Kevin was successful in scaring them away. On the grocery store cashier's register monitor, no changes whatsoever occur during the transaction.

When the cop starts to chase Kevin for stealing the toothbrush, they run past a woman in a red coat with a skate on her shoulder twice.The pinnacle in both Home Alone Movies has to be the scenes when Kevin is totally defeating the bad guys! We wanted to make sure this was highlight at the party. We started as you walked in the front door, “The Paint Can Pummel” navigating through 40 tiny paint cans as you walked up to the party. Inside you had to “Scorch the Burglars”- this was one of my favorites. Essentially it was pin the tail on the donkey, but with a twist. The kids pinned the iron on Marv and Pin the fire on Harry. Wearing a snorkel mask, the kids places tiny irons and flames onto AMAZING portraits of the bad guys. These were hand drawn by Stacy of Thread Mama and came out absolutely perfect.

During rehearsal for the scene where Harry attempts to bite off Kevin's finger, Joe Pesci actually bit Macaulay Culkin, leaving a small scar. John Heard and Catherine O'Hara both played supporting characters in the 1985 film After Hours, sharing a brief scene together. In the beginning of the movie after Peter realizes he will not be able to shave in Paris without a power adapter, Kate tells him to grow a goatee. This would be impossible, since a goatee would still require shaving part of your beard. However, it seems like Kate is merely making a sarcastic joke while Kevin is bothering her. All the food and sweets were served on a long table with a super fun installation above it. A sign that read Eating Junk and Watching Rubbish was totally fitting. Surrounded with paint cans, it was the perfect way to add whimsy and color. The BAR I focused the theme on Home Alone 2 but there are some key moments in the first movie, Home Alone, I could not leave out. For the invitation, Itsy Bitsy Parties designed a Battle Plan all about the party. Incorporating key moments in both movies and details I would be high lighting at the party. It was of course front and center of the infamous flatlay along with all the other amazing details! Dessets & FoodWhile setting traps in preparation for the burglars, Kevin douses all the stairs outside his house with water. They freeze in a short time, indicating it to be quite cold. However, later when we see Kevin running across the Murphy's driveway, not only are there visible liquid puddles, but he runs at a full sprint without so much as a slip. The nail Daniel Stern stepped on was actually made of rubber because he could actually crush it with his foot and feel no pain. When Kevin crosses himself before his macaroni and cheese dinner, he goes from right shoulder to left shoulder. Orthodox go from right to left. Catholics go left to right.
