Lennox, the devastatingly gorgeous flirt who charms me with his criminal smiles and melts me with his gentle kisses while hiding a sinister secret. They are twin brothers, each one more dangerous than the other, each one more irresistible. Loyal only to their crew, Murder of Crows, they refuse to let a stranger like me get too close. Lennox and Maddox are the North Twins and end up in a love triangle with Rae. To be honest, I thought the whole time I found out who she was going to be with, and then I was wrong. This book literally kept me guessing until the very end. She ends up having a brother and the one she doesn’t choose gets a book of her own next. Oh Selena, that epilogue!!!!! Eeeekkkkk. I can’t wait for the next book! I want to see the fury flashing in her seafoam eyes, like some treacherous siren luring ships to their death, before she realizes she’s met her match, and that I won’t be captivated by her siren song. I want to see the savageness swept away, replaced with terror, as I strip her power and leave her at my mercy.” i mean the book had potential at first, the plot was still shit and all (even tho it was entertaining ill give it that) and sometimes the writing makes no sense (it's tryhard purple prose) and some descriptions r confusing i couldn't set the scene but at first the characters weren't that messed up and unlikeable and i actually liked maddox. It was a wee bit messy, errors here and there, open ended scenes which didn't go anywhere, making it feel rushed, so really needed to be edited a bit more. In the end, we know they were not so alone or invisible, everyone was meant to be around one another, together, as one.The end of the first book didn't seem very auspicious for Scarlett Stone. Certain she was going on a trip with her boyfriend, she was in for a surprise, life altering events and the man of her nightmares that could very well be of her dreams also. In “Only Happy When It Rains,” Lennox, Maddox’s twin brother from the “Rain King,” and Scarlett, Maddox’s girlfriend, find themselves together. All Scarlett wants to do is be an actress, but she goes in an entirely different direction with Lennox, who leads the way—a way to darkness, danger, and betrayal. As someone who didn't read the first book about Madox and Rae's story i felt really bad about Scarlet. Basically Madox dumps in the beginning of the book. Scarlet is 19years old and wants to someday be an actress. She got all the looks to achieve this dream. She is confident and incredibility funny. At the same time she keeps it very real and I really enjoyed her bubbly side in comparison to Lennoxs grumpy side. But just like everyone Scarlot has got a dark fantasy that she never got to act out until she finds Lennox. My heart breaks for her in what happens in this book. I seriously cried in one part so be aware! But I love her character development in the end. Selena writes such multi-faceted characters and knows how to develop them so well that as the story progresses, what initially seems to be an irredeemable character becomes someone you can easily fall in love with.

Lennox and Maddox North both have noticed the new girl next girl. She's so sweet and innocent. A temptation that neither of them need to pursue. She's not made like the other girls in the neighborhood. Shes not made for their type of life. Like the Crew girls. When the temptation becomes too much and lines are crossed, the boys agree that they have to stay away from her. Nothing would come between family. Nothing.Lennox and Scarlet have a sadist/masochist relationship. If you love dub/con and non/con.. literally tons of rape from the MMC and not, But in some strange way, I’m ready to be hurt. I want to love just so I’ll know I’m not alone. I want to hurt because it proves that I loved, maybe even that someone loved me. If that’s the price of not being alone with my heart anymore, then I’m ready to pay that price.” Lennox, the devastatingly gorgeous flirt who charms me with his criminal smiles and melts me with his gentle kisses... While hiding a sinister secret. They take me in, but I soon realize these men are no saviors. They’re ruthless kings in a community governed by gang law, where depravity reigns and favors are repaid in blood. I should have seen the omen and run, but now it’s too late. I’m in their debt.

Scarlet always thought she was in love with Lennox’s brother Maddox. But we all know from book one that Maddox married Rae. Scarlet was nothing but someone that warmed his sheets and Lennox always thought that he was in love with Rae. I still read them. I’m not sure if it’s just curiosity as it’s darker than most and I always wonder where she’s going with the stories and characters that aren’t all good or all bad. With actions that are not always bad, but that mostly end in a despicable way. It’s confusing how to animate those characters. I read the first book in this series and really enjoyed it. I had forgot this one was even coming out till I started seeing it in the author's book group and was like, wait a minute. So I was excited. Now I'm more like, meh, about it. I should have seen the omen and run, but by the time I realize that, it’s too late. My heart belongs to both men, but only one can have me. Suddenly I’m caught between them in a battle that can only end in tragedy. This book has a lot of trigger warnings for a reason and even though I don't shy away from such triggers, in this book though, it felt like it was forced in a way and didn't come naturally with the story line.
