Cut along the line you’ve drawn in lead pencil to trim the excess paper from around your suncatcher. Unfold and remove the center shape. You will now have a bat or pumpkin shaped window in the center of your construction paper.

This Halloween sensory bin will be the perfect activity for those who love a little creepy fun! Digging into this bin filled with colorful spaghetti and eyeball bouncy balls will have them giggling and exclaiming with excitement as they experience the slimy, squishy sensation.

More non-scary Halloween crafts for kids

This fun activity will keep little ones entertained while they make charming decorations for the spooky season. Fun isn’t the only thing they’ll gain from this craft! They’ll work on fine motor skills as they scrunch and glue the tissue paper to create the ghost. Even though these three simple projects aren’t quite spooky, they definitely are festive! Decorating gets crazy this time of year when you have to jump from Halloween to Thanksgiving and then Christmas, so I try to keep it simple. I’ll probably put away the accordion bats in November, but the pumpkins and dried Chinese lantern branches can definitely stay out. Here are the 4 different toilet paper rolls we made with step-by-step instructions on how to make them. OPTIONAL: if you want you can add a layer of glue on top of your tissue paper once you have finished putting it all on – but tissue paper like yellow can go transparent if you do. But it keeps a bit better long term. We did it on one and it looks nice!

I love how it kind of looks like a real dried Chinese Lantern branch. If you don’t have foam balls lying around, just roll up a little ball of tissue paper for the inside. If making the pumpkin, unfold the center pumpkin shape and cut out the eyes, nose and mouth. Keep these aside to glue on later. Step One: Tear a 5” – 6″ strip of crepe paper and place the foam ball in the center. Fold up the short sides, then twist the ends together. Add a dab of glue to hold the twist in place. The process for all the suncatcher crafts really is more or less the same. All you need to do is switch out your seasonal templates. And today’s template is for Fall, Thanksgiving and Halloween! Supplies needed to make Suncatcher Pumpkins: Step Two: Open up the honeycomb balls. Tear a piece of green crepe paper about 3” – 6” long for the pumpkin stem; tear different lengths to create different stem lengths. Twist the ends together and glue one end to the top center of your ball. Cut out pumpkin leaves and glue between an accordion layer near the top center. To add some looped stems, cut some wire about 5” – 8” in length, and wrap your stem-covered wire around a pencil a couple of times. Glue the wire near the top center of the ball.Hold the balloon over the sheet on your lap and draw a friendly or spooky ghost face onto the old white sheet. Ensure that the front will be in the right place when you hang it by holding the ghost decoration from the balloon before you start drawing. We love to embrace the cute and whimsical side of Halloween! Get into the festive spirit with a craft project that’s a little spooky yet oh-so-adorable! Glue strips of tissue paper over the top of the sandwich paper, overlapping each piece and completely covering the window. Coffee filters (you may need more than one per pumpkin, depending on the size of your coffee filters) Halloween is one of our favourite occasions to craft for because you get to be so creative! You can hone in on an unusual colour palette, decide which motif is the spookiest, work out how to make 3D decorations with real appeal… what’s not to love? And paper Halloween crafts are – it goes without saying – the best! Let us explain. Halloween decorations made from paper are cost-effective because they require few materials and, more often than not, no fancy gadgets. You can make paper pumpkins, spiderwebs and the like using basic supplies from your craft stash. Cereal box crafts really come into their own for Halloween too. You can make a haunted house from an old cereal box – more on that later!

Tie a 1 – 4-foot section of the monofilament line or fishing string around the knot on the balloon. Room On The Broom: This has to be one of our favorite Halloween books of all time! The story follows a witch and her cat as they happen upon some animals who help the witch. There’s danger, mystery, and friendship in this adorable children’s story. See these 3 easy Halloween Spider Crafts for kids! You’ll definitely want to try one – or all three! Skeleton Halloween Craft– Looking for something fun and easy for your kids to do this Halloween? They can craft their own spooky skeleton! It’s easily adaptable for any child’s skill level, so grab the template and a handful of supplies to get to the building. Find the small hole you cut in the old sheet, tulle, creepy cloth, or plastic bag, and place the balloon’s knot through it.

Cut out strips of toilet paper and glue them on top of your paper roll to look like a mummy. It’s ok if you leave some spaces not covered. Make some Halloween tissue paper suncatchers in either bat or pumpkin design. This is a colourful and non-scary Halloween paper craft for your kiddos. You have the option to make a pumpkin, mummy, Frankenstein or vampire. With just a few supplies, you can transform your toilet paper rolls into funny characters just in time for Halloween!

First, scroll down to read through both sets of step-by-step instructions to make ghost crafts (small to medium or extra large). Next, decide which type of ghost crafts you would like to make before choosing the DIY supplies you will use to make ghost crafts from the list below: They look so cheery hanging on the window! You could make them in darker and spookier colours if you want to. Use scissors to cut squares of tissue paper, fabric (tulle, an old sheet, or pillowcase), or white plastic garbage bags. We cut 10 to 12-inch squares to make ghost crafts, but they can be any size you like.Use a lead pencil to sketch a line around the outside of the pumpkin or bat shape to make the frame, approx 3/4” from the edge. For the pumpkin you can optionally add a stalk shape at the top. Sugar Skull Craft– Encourage children to embrace diverse cultures and traditions by decorating a sugar skull. This activity can be tailored to your child’s skill level by just coloring, or adding intricate details and embellishments to their skulls.
