When applying Joint-It Simple, take care to use plenty of water and remove all excess product from the top of the slabs at the end of the application. Preparation: Make sure all joints are cleaned out to a minimum depth of 25mm (minimum joint width of 3mm) and clear of any dirt. You need a hard and soft brush and use the mortar with water on a water-permeable surface to get the best result. Joint-It Simple – is a ready-mixed, permeable, jointing compound that can be applied in all weathers.Joint-It Fine can only be used where there is a permeable base. If you are unsure if your base is permeable, run a hose for several minutes on the top of the paving. If the water drains through the joints after about 5 minutes, then the base is permeable. If the water logs on the top, then the base is not permeable. Add more water: Add more water sparingly to help Joint-It flow into joints of the paving, working diagonally across the joints to ensure Joint-It has penetrated all joints of the paving.

Every Joint-It product is formulated to deliver a professional quality result, whether that’s to joint, clean, seal or enhance the colour of your natural stone or concrete paving. Joint-It Simple must be used on a permeable base. This is to allow water to drain through instead of logging on the top of your slabs. We recommend a 6:1 sand and cement base. Traditional sand and cement methods of pointing are extremely time consuming and laborious. This simple to use, sweep-in jointing grout gets the job finished faster and stands the test of time.
Follow-up with either our Supreme Colour Enhancer or Premium Sealer and you can be sure your patio or driveway is protected from the elements, and day-to-day spills, for 3-5 years. (Actual duration of product efficacy depends on local weather conditions). If this happens, we recommend power washing your driveway, applying a weed killer, and then reapplying Joint-It Fine approximately 10 days later.
