round ('Dreadnaught base') is probably about right, might hang off a 50mm round and it's too wide to use one of the ovals.Actually, you want to use the 80mm round base for the AB - the AB that came in RW battleforce box was supplied with 80mm base. These infantry options, previously rather maligned are looking a lot better now. While at worst you’ll still want to field a few just to have shields for your more valuable units ( your opponent can’t shoot anything but what’s closest, after all) with some work you can make them actually good. They can be buffed by a Thrallmaster, or played in Dhom-Hainn they’re no longer just “pretty good” and can actually become a threat when brought en masse. Other The Akhelian Thrallmaster is the second of two new miniatures currently exclusive to the Fury of the Deep box set. In spite of being a build with a surprisingly large number of components, the Akhelian Thrallmaster goes together with ease. Now they’re once per game rituals that take effect when affected by a specific tide of death, and to their credit they allow you to choose which one you have after set up, so you can choose the one that works best gain what army you are facing. You do need an Isharann model in your army, which you most likely will.

But the god Teclis found a troubling darkness in the heart of these new elves and nearly destroyed them. Fearing his anger and the anguish in their own ravaged souls, these firstborn elves fled into the depths of the ocean. Here they made a horrifying discovery: almost every child born would wither and die unless its soul was reinforced with soulstuff stolen from another mortal.Every belt, head, helmet plume, and weapon are interchangeable (within the limitations of making sure that a right hand is attached to a right wrist and so-on), so you really can build a unique unit of warriors. They’re super modular, and as a result, they’re extremely easy to put together. Oh, and they look really cool. I noticed that there appear to be a couple of mislabelled components during the Alloplex build. In step 2d, when building the pilot, component C18 is, a chestplate, seems to refer to the piece labelled C20 on the sprue, and what is labelled as C20 in the instructions (a leg) is C22 on the sprue. If you want to break tradition and field a lot of foot troops I think this will be a go-to, as it basically lets you do Mighty Destroyers from Ironjawz, with a smaller unit pool. Christoffer Karlsmose – Crematorians (4-0-1): Katakros, a Liege Kavalos, Arkhan and 6 Immortis Guards plus 10 Deathriders make for a mobile list Aighmar - Calwyr - Dwy-Hor - Elgaen - Guethen - Ilmeth - Ionrach - Khaphtar - Laebreans - Loknar - Morladron - Motlynian - Oirthar - Ske'Lain - Túrach - Ulphori - Ymeroch - Ymmerloc

Many units have been improved –One of the biggest weaknesses of the original book is how most of the units were not very good. You’d rely on the standouts of the army to perform by spamming as many as possible. This gradually improved over time, but there are a lot more solid units now. During these raids, the troubled aelves bring the oceans with them in the form of the ethersea. This magical essence allows the beasts of the deep to swim through the air. The Auric Flamekeeper is joined by five Auric Hearthguard and five Hearthguard Berzerkers – 10 models in total who can be built either way – as well as 10 Vulkite Berzerkers . Akhelian ( Allopex - Emissary - Ishlaen Guard - King - Leviadon - Ma'harr - Morrsarr Guard) - Bond-Beast ( Allopex - Deepmare - Druilfish - Fangmora Eel - Fuiadon - Leviadon - Luminar Fish - Ochtar - Rakerdart - Scryfish - Stórá) - Eidolon of Mathlann ( Sea - Storm) - Isharann ( Chorralus - Embailor - Soulrender - Soulscryer - Soul Warden - Tidecaster - Tru'heas) - Namarti ( Thrall - Reaver - Void Drummer) Ritual of the Deep-sight grants a 5+ ward on High Tide to Namarti units, when most of the carnage is going to happen. I find this is a bit counter-intuitive as its also the turn you’ll get Always Strike First on everything so ideally you’ll kill most things first, but if anything survives or you go second you’ll be prepared. While being limited to just Namarti is a shame, these are typically the units that would benefit from it most anyway. It’ll be particularly important on things that do a lot of mortal wounds, which are currently cluttering up much of the meta.

Namarti Thralls and Reavers

One of the best things about the new edition is figuring out how it will impact your collection or help you lean towards a new army based on their play style. James gave us some tips by telling us why he likes these three units. Namarti Thralls

In addition to the new hero, there’s a fair few changes to the included warscrolls. Since the box contains all 3 units Fyreslayers have access to that aren’t heroes it’s a compartively large overhaul for the army. The only change that they share is that throwing axes now hit and wound on a 4+ instead of a 5+ which is a cool little buff to all these units, but pretty minor. Vulkite BerzerkersThere are also a handful of undersea-themed scenic components that you can attach to the bases of whichever Thralls you wish – coral, seaweed, fish, that sort of thing – which is a nice touch. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Fury of the Deep Review – Price and Availability Again, much like the tokens, the rulers are a bit of a disappointment in what has thus far been an extremely promising release. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Fury of the Deep Review – Models These things may seem minor, but Tzeentch lists have typically always had about 300-500 points to play with anyway, since the nerfing of the Incarnate. The core summoning shell is in tact, and these things just help the army better stay alive long enough for the Lords of Change to arrive. The Best of the Rest As usual, we will cover it next week, in a seperate article, as there’s a lot to cover here. What’s in the Book?
