Battery Life: say goodbye to those 16-bay AA battery chargers! Not only do AD200’s run on Lithium-Ion batteries, but the charge lasts for HOURS. I have shot 3-day Indian weddings and haven’t had to worry about charging my batteries overnight. Speedlite flash head: 52m (ISO 100) 35mm coverage Bare bulb flash head: 60m (ISO 100, with the standard reflector) Let me tell you why this is the perfect choice for professional photographers and amateur enthusiasts who want a better portable flash experience. What Are the Key Features of the Godox AD200 Pro? Built-in wireless receiver: control triggering power level, alert beep with optional wireless transmitter. Compatible with Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, and Fuji TTL.

I have a lot of flashes and strobes to use, but most of my work relies upon the Godox AD200Pro. I use it for product photography and portraits. The reason I regularly choose the AD200Pro is due to the option to change my flash head depending on the situation.

One of the most disruptive things about flash is, unsurprisingly, the flash. When you are working alongside cinema teams it can be a nuisance constantly seeing the strobing light in the footage. Above all, it does affect how hyperaware the subject is of being photographed that it reads in shots. For moments when there is action and both photo and video need to capture it, I prefer using a video light so we can work together to make sure we get the shots we need rather than recreating the moment (one with flash and one without). The modeling light on the AD100 Pro helped immensely for this and photograph static objects like invites, rings, and jewelry with the video team I was shooting this wedding with. However, this was one of the first times that a piece of gear acted as a catalyst for creativity, a platform for new ideas that allowed me to put into practice what I had learned. I have had the Godox AD200 for well over a year and it has not only become a staple in my wedding photography toolkit but it has reinvented how I see and create light. I know, it sounds dramatic, but it’s true. Photographers get inspired by many different things, but having 200 w/s in a compact-size strobe truly redefined off-camera lighting for me and immersed me into an entirely different world of creativity. Godox AD200 Specifications I don’t regularly use high-speed sync, but it can save your day when you need outdoor portraits to overpower the sun.

Here is why I can’t live without the Godox AD200, now that I have had it in my possession for a full year: The manual flash mode lets you choose the specific power output. Manual flash provides consistent power to your light from one shot to the next until you make a power adjustment. This mode also allows control of the modeling map, front curtain sync or rear curtain syncThe AD200 Pro uses a rechargeable lithium battery that lasts longer than rechargeable or alkaline AA batteries. 6: Bare Bulb Flash Head or Speedlite Flash Head William Beem is a portrait photographer with decades of experience.
