Description

While all the others radios found a DAB signal straight away, the Uno needed some repositioning before it would search for stations, so you may need a little flexibility when it comes to positioning the radio and aerial. Once connected, the audio is more perfectly respectable for a radio of this size. A cute classic that’s hard to resist. Next up is material. Read through the product description for Pure Evoke H3 DAB Radio to get an understanding of the materials the product is made from. Some materials will obviously be known for delivering better quality item than others. You might also have decided that you’ll only accept a product made from a particular material. One of the more affordable radios in our roundup, this is the successor to the original Spectrum Duo from John Lewis and brings a 2.8-inch colour LCD, Bluetooth and NFC to the party. We couldn’t quite figure out how to dim the display on the H3 though, which might be problematic for your bedroom. Pure Evoke H3 review: Performance Evoke H3 includes a headphone output for private listening and an auxiliary input for connecting to any device.

If the brand you buy is important to you, our best advice is to spend some time writing up your own list of ideal brands. That way when you come to the point where you’re comparing product options you can filter to only show the products from brands in your list. Pure support have now agreed to look at the radio under warrenty and replace it if needed. Will update if and when this happens. If you can’t find any programs that you want to listen to via the radio signals, then you can use the Bluetooth connectivity instead. The Evoke H3 will work as a wireless speaker with your tablet, smartphone, or laptop, showing your album artwork on the colour display as it plays. Instructions for recovery can be found here: http://support.pure.com/kb_article.php?ref=5285-WVEM-0367 The Uno is a pint-sized version of the original Revival radio. And just like its older sibling, it sports Roberts’ distinctively adorable 1950s styling. It’s 35 per cent smaller than the original but has a similar gold speaker grille and cursive ‘Roberts’ logo on the front.

ccb talks about a "wi-fi upgrade" and "Pure Evoke Flow logo", but describes their radio only as a "Pure Evoke", not Evoke-3. Is it actually an Evoke Flow? There's already a thread on problems with Flows on firmware v1.7 http://community.whathifi.com/forums/t/352359.aspx The problem started last week when it kept trying to update the software automatically - even though I have already installed the newest version (v1.8) last year via my PC.

The wooden casing allows for a much deeper quality of sound, although we missed the tactile tuning knobs present on other Evoke models.mach99:I get the distinct impression that some digital signal has been sent out which trashes the 'older generation' of Evoke 3's. The next step was to try and narrow down our search even more. So we’ve already looked the prices of products in the Radios category. Then we’ve also looked at the prices of products from Pure. So this step combines the two and looks specifically at the price you’d expect to pay for Pure branded products in the Radios category. For those who prefer to listen to their favourite channels privately, the Pure Evoke H2 DAB/DAB+/FM and Bluetooth radio comes with a headphone output. However, it’s worth noting that this rather compact device is a little small when it comes to volume too. If you’re looking for something that will get your furniture vibrating – then this isn’t it. The Pure Evoke H3 can get loud enough – but it’s limited in volume. At first, the output is a little underwhelming. There’s more warmth than you might expect from a small plastic radio, but not much clarity or definition. Give it a few minutes, though, and the sound opens up. While the quality is still a bit boxy and congested, with a muddy low-end, it’s both very listenable and easily tunable through preset and custom EQs. With four AA batteries, you’re only looking at around eight hours of use, but this is a great radio for the money, all the same.

What’s more, the practical user interface and large scrolling wheel makes it much easier for listeners to use their radio – even if they’re new to DAB technology. We particularly liked the fact that you can see all the art from your albums on the Pure Evoke H3 screen when streaming via Bluetooth.

Get crystal-clear sound and the widest range of stations whether you’re at home or on the move with the best DAB radios

Use Evoke H3 as a wireless speaker with your laptop, smartphone or tablet devices. Simple to connect and control, Evoke H3 will allow you to enjoy your favourite TV shows, movies and music apps in great, full range sound. The sound quality of analogue radio can be patchy compared to digital, as it’s very sensitive to interference. That’s why you sometimes have to move the aerial, and even the radio around to get a good signal. Most DAB and internet radios also include an analogue tuner. 3. Internet radio

The thing that really makes the Pure Evoke H3 stand out when compared to alternatives like the H2, is the full-colour digital screen. The vivid screen presents radio station artwork in full colour. That’s why, here at Radio Fidelity, we relish any opportunity to put a Pure radio device to the test for our readers. The Pure Evoke H3 is no exception.
