My favorite man this year is officially Angelo. He is exactly what I need in a book lover. Everything about him was the best kind of contradiction. He lived by the quote, “The good always cancels out the bad.” So all the darkness of him was surrounded by the perfect amount of goodness. Don’t get me wrong, he was an extremely vicious demon, but in my opinion, they all deserved it. Also, he touched her and you did (even though he obviously killed quite a bit).

Each character was terrifying in his own way, yet realistic and relatable. The tension was high and heavy at all times, you never knew what was going to happen but you couldn’t wait to see it. You KNOW what needs to happen to get out of your situation, but you can’t imagine it actually happening. The MMC was the definition of morally grey, hate everyone but her, touch her, look at her and die! And along the way, author managed to pull out all standard expectations one has of a mob romance without making it the boring, without wanting to say that “keep it up.”

One night, she meets Rafe who dons an expensive watch, and tries to con him but surprisingly, she also has a lot of fear and attraction for the man. He believes that when she is gone, he will be able to rise like a phoenix but he just cannot let her go. The casting was incredible, Alan and Lee embodied the roles of Angelo and Rory perfectly. Marrying the 70-something head of the Cosa Nostra to save my father is the only good deed I’ve ever done. I’m burning and bitter under the fake smile and tight dresses, but I was keeping it together. Angelo " Vicious"& Rory"Aurora" were just perfect for each other. And they could have been epic & while i enjoyed their time together nothing happened between them until the very very end. and even then the fire works were not enough whilst some may enjoy this style of writing i certainly do not. i felt cheated & i really expected more intimate scenes considering its a Mafia book. having said that the author did make me believe in their love . im not sure if i will buy the other books in this series but i really want to know more about Rory & Vicious' lives because they got together at the very end we didnt see them together as a couple for long.. if author ever gives them another book i will definitely read it just because i love them.There wasn’t a single story or character in this book that didn’t completely draw me in. The fact that it’s an ongoing series (although unfortunately Angelo and Rory’s story seems to be complete) is just icing on a perfectly constructed cake. I admit that I wish it was Gabe and not Rafe who told the story next, but I can’t wait to read what else this author presents in this series.
