Vigfus Bladewind used these swords to kill many vrykul heroes over the years. Helya even committed some of her own power into the blades, just as Odyn had. Not only did their lethal potential increase, but they made it easier for Helya to claim their victims' souls. For many years, Helya had no chance to seek vengeance. When the opportunity arose, she took it without hesitation.
