Ruth Shaw’s life has been crammed with incredible adventure, and at times damned by terrible tragedy. As she is supposedly just explaining her motivations to them, she uses multi syllabic words where a simple "yuk" would do.

This story honestly reminded me of the movie The Killing of a Sacred Deer so if you know anything about that movie you could understand how unsettling this book truly is. Andrew insists the disasters are coincidental and the visitors were anticipating pre-scheduled news broadcasting.
