About this deal

The characters are like-able, the imagery described is enchanting, and there is a happy ending for everyone.

And I also discovered that three frames were in fact "honey-bound", if you define that as having capped honey all the way across the frame tops, but not ALL of them. I enjoyed this book but I was not able to get fully into the story, as I felt that the characters were somewhat distant and hard to connect with. I would consider doing a Pagden split now ie Old queen and worker bees in hive on original position and everything else, including the capped queen cell a few meters away. Its tranquil and unhurried pace encourages a sense of relaxation, making it an ideal choice for unwinding after the roller-coaster of emotions often stirred by more dramatic stories. Its soft-spoken nature welcomes readers with open arms, providing a sense of comfort that comes from indulging in a quieter and more contemplative narrative. There were a couple minor editing mistakes, but they were easy to overlook and didn’t disturb the flow of the story. For romance, the author did attempt to offer a red herring love interest, but it was obvious from the start that Sage would end up with Prince Finn. If you plan to extract and replace the original frames you really need to put the combs back in the hive the same day.

Also the use of some modern words and things such as a (lavender) latte felt off from the medieval-ish world, but I guess that it is OK because it is fantasy? Now I'm suddenly not seeing either her or brood, the latter because of all the honey in the brood cells. So, another possibility is that your hive has already swarmed weeks ago, around the time you first noticed the queen cells, and the queen you spotted now is the replacement that is staying in the hive.Yesterday, I pulled off the honeycomb box to discourage robbing, but I want to keep it (possibly freeze it) to be able to feed back if the bees need it in winter. The bees will back fill the cells from which the brood hatches during the time the old queen quits laying, swarms, and the new queen is mated and starts laying again. Overall, this is a very cute book to read, and honestly would be a great start for a young reader getting into fantasy romance.

Experienced beekeepers are an excellent source of information and education, and associations often offer classes and training to help new beekeepers learn what to look for. You run the risk of them backfilling the broodnest with nectar/syrup, and the new queen having no open cells for her to get up and running. adventures, lattes, books, dragons and some lovely supporting characters you're in for a real treat with this quick read. Looking in the brood boxes of a hive, you can expect to see cells with brood, pollen, nectar, water and honey. Nectar, honey with and without caps, and water can be farther from the brood but still available in nearby cells or frames. If there is a larger percentage of cells filled with pollen or nectar than brood, the hive may be honey bound. When his brother, the Crown Prince, is up to no good and secrets are being kept, will Sage step up to the challenge or keep her cozy life cozy? Then I took 4 frames of syrup/nectar/honey from Squill, shook off the bees and put these frames in Crocus.
